Knutsford's first quality-assured gymnastics sessions
The team that brought you Knutsford’s first British Gymnastics registered gymnastics club has now brought Knutsford’s first GymMark accredited club to both Knutsford Leisure Centre and Holmes Chapel Leisure Centre.
By bringing Knutsford Gymnastics under the umbrella of Gymnastics 4 Cheshire, Head Coach Richard Price hopes the club can now develop and grow to its full potential. Director of Coaching Mark Hudson met with Richard earlier this year to discuss how they might bring about the integration and, since then, his vision for quality-assured gymnastics sessions in the town has really taken off.
Feedback from parents has been overwhelmingly supportive and gymnasts are already seeing the benefit of their new club, with a high level of investment in both the organisation and equipment on offer.
The newly-formed club, which now boasts classes in Holmes Chapel, Hartford and Winsford is looking to recruit new members and share the expertise of the county’s best-qualified gymnastics instructors.
Mark Hudson - Director of Coaching
Ex British Tumbling Champion and world class competitor, experienced in coaching top gymnasts over the years. Mark is a High Performance Coach, Tutor, Mentor and Internal Verifier for British Gymnastics, meaning he is employed by British Gymnastics to visit clubs across the country to check for overall standards of safety and quality. Mark was also Chair of North West Acrobatic Gymnastics for over 10 years.
Laura Hudson - Head of Coaching and Development
Ex British Silver Medalist and national squad member. Laura is a Senior Club Coach, Mentor and has a specialism in dance and choreography. She was the organiser behind the North West Acrobatic Gymnastics competition for over 4 years.
With this new team behind them, gymnasts in Knutsford and Holmes Chapel will now be part of a wider network, offering greater opportunities and, for the first time, they’ll have quality-assured gymnastics and trampoline sessions on their doorstep.
This is a massive leap forwards for the sport locally, and the club is inviting anybody interested to come and see for themselves. Sessions are currently run on a Monday in Holmes Chapel and on a Thursday in Knutsford.
