Anyone for Tennis?

Tatton MP Esther McVey cuts ribbon on new clubhouse

Tennis, Pimms and competitions in the sun made for a wonderful afternoon at Croftside tennis club this summer, as the club celebrated the official opening of its new clubhouse.

The event took place on Sunday 9th July, and was marked with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Tatton MP Esther McVey.

The celebration saw club members and local residents in attendance, marking the occasion.

Croftside Tennis Club was established in the 1930s, and its original pavilion - described as ‘full of character’ - was sadly no longer fit for purpose or able to meet the growing needs of the club.

With funding from Sport England and the Lottery, a new clubhouse has been built.

With the official unveiling of the new facility and three artificial courts, the club is going from strength to strength with three men’s teams, two ladies’ teams and twelve junior teams all competing in local leagues.

The club offers competitive and social tennis for all standards and ages.
