HLTC Open Day

Tennis coach Paul Mannion shows guests how it's done...

Heyes Lane Tennis Club (which is situated on The Circuit, just off Heyes Lane) in Alderley Edge today showed off their facilities and gave aspiring Andy Murrays the chance to strut their stuff on the three all-weather astroturf courts whilst being coached by LTA tennis coach Paul Mannion. Juniors and adults alike had the chance to see what is on offer at the club and some were even brave enough to pit themselves against 'The Stig' which is an automatic ball-firing machine that has apparently never been beaten...!

The club hopes to boost membersip in advance of the Wimbledon rush this Summer and the recent warm weather has certainly helped attract potential players. Karen Price (membership secretary) told us "There's a really great atmosphere at the club. We're a friendly, local club and we can cater for social players as well as those interested in professional coaching. We're also very nearby for many members and we see them walking or cycling down with their tennis rackets all the time  - especially when the weather is as nice as it is today."

Heyes Lane Tennis CLub offers a range of coaching and competitive tennis, with Saturday and Sunday morning sessions for juniors and Wednesday morning sessions for adults as well as regular social tennis on a Tuesday evening during the Summer and Sunday afternoons all year round.

Anyone interested in joining the club can contact Karen on 01625 585 406 or email heyeslane@virginmedia.com with any enquiries or further details can also be found at www.heyeslane.4t.com and Paul Mannion (LTA tennis coach) can be contacted on 07813 329 295.
